PathFinder TV Producers and Viewers

Anyone is capable of broadcasting live events over the Internet.  All you need is a camcorder, PathFinder’s Producer Station and an Internet connection.

The Producer

The Producer is the broadcaster, and is provided with a Producer Station from PathFinder TV. The Producer Station is a fully automated, plug-and-play appliance that when connected to the Internet, automatically connects to the PathFinder web portal.
The Producer Station accepts audio and video from any source such as a video camera, processes the signal as directed by the Pathfinder TV portal, and in turn, broadcasts the signal with all relevant control information to the PathFinder TV portal.  The PathFinder TV portal will then broadcast the live event to any number of viewers as directed and authorized by the Producer.

The Producer via any web browser utilizing any computer with Internet access can access the Producer Portal. The Producer Portal resides in its entirety within the PathFinder TV server; therefore a Producer does not have to dedicate a computer solely for the use of administering the Producer Portal & Producer Station.

Basic overview and operation of the Producer Portal includes: Set up & calendar events to broadcast. Calendar is the date and time of the event Invite viewers to access live and archived events Provide login names and authorization passwords for viewers to access the Producer's content
Set up "rules" for viewers: Watch live event only Watch live event and stream/download archived event(s) at a later date Download / stream archived event(s) only And many more rules that the Producer can customize

Regarding the actual broadcast; via the Producer Portal:

• The Producer will initiate the broadcast with the click of a mouse. This process will automatically:
  • Establish the communication link between the Producer Station and the PathFinder TV server.
  • Set up the live broadcast data rate based on the method of broadcasting via a specific broadband connection and speed
  • Initiate archiving of the broadcast / event
• The Producer will terminate the live broadcast with the click of a mouse.

The Viewer

Join the growing community of PathFinder TV Viewers that currently enjoy access to live broadcasts and archived events & programs of many origins. The Viewer watches the event with either a PC or Mac and a standard web browser by logging on to the PathFinder TV web portal using a specific username and password.

The Viewer will receive an invitation via e-mail from the Producer that includes his username and password. With access to the PathFinder TV portal, the Viewer will be able to view the live event plus any archived events that the Producer has given the Viewer access to view or download.
